I think it took me more time to prepare this good, good photo of this steel cut oats compared to the time that I actually cooked it for me and my husband.
I am a sucker for anything vanilla and strawberry and quick recipes. If you know me I rarely chat along and go straight to listing the ingredients. This recipe serves 2 bowls. You can opt to add in walnuts and dried cranberries too if you wish!
How To:
Cook the toasted oats:
1 tsp coconut oil (optional; to toast the oats)
1/3 cup steel cut oats (we use Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Steel Cut Oats)
1 cup pressure cooker/ Instant Pot or 2 (slow cooker, stove-top) cups water
After toasting and/or cooking the oats:
Drizzle with maple syrup (MyCadia) or more to taste (I normally don’t put this can be an option)
1/4 cup unsweetened Almond Milk Vanilla (we use Almond Breeze‘s Unsweetened version)
1/8 teaspoon chai (this chai from The Urban Spices PH is really, really good!!! Well, actually, their spices – all of them!)
1/3 cup chopped strawberries (because we support local businesses, our strawberries were bought from Agrea’s Move Food PH)
1 tsp chia seeds
And yes, while I was waiting for the steel cut oats to cook, I was also folding the laundry. Double treat for adults like us!
Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried this, or if you want something more green tea-ish, check Matcha Steel Cut Oats too!
