Okay so besides being a sucker for anything quick to whip, and time efficient meals, I am also a fan of putting fun nicknames on food that I make – thus dra-ngo-nana. Have you guessed it already?
It’s dragon fruit + mango and banana. Its healthy, energizing and (being honest here) yummmmmm!
Quick and easily whipped at home. Just make sure that you have your fruits frozen (and also in season – the riper the better so you won’t add any sweeteners anymore) at least the night before so the consistency comes out really smooth.
Recipe below:
1 cup frozen dragonfruit or pitaya
1 cup frozen mango
1 cup frozen banana
1 cup unsweetened soy/ almond milk (optional), replace with water if non-dairy milk is unavailable.
1 tsp chia seeds
You can also opt to add in toppings like in the photo above. I added honey granola flakes, unsweetened dried cranberries and cacao nibs.
Normally, if you’re like me who’s not such a fan of morning smoothie bowls (and you live in a tropical country like I do), I whip this in the afternoon to keep me from sweating. Its a great snack that you can not only have with your partner but also with your kids and friends. This serves two so just double up if you’re serving it to more people.
Comment below if you’re interested in any smoothie bowl recipes below. Planning to whip up more soon too!
Love and light,
Candy xx
