The Body Shop: Vitamin E Hydrating Face Mist

Okay, so I’ve been using this product for more than two weeks now and all I can say is that it’s just been so glorious to have been introduced to this product. (Thanks to my sister!)

A little background: I’m not a big makeup girl fan but like any woman, I wear makeup at work and of course during special occasions (formal events, parties, get-togethers). I started a few years figuring out the right combination for my face when it comes to applying my makeup and I think by now I have a rough idea of what I should and should not be applying. More so as I grew with years of experimenting on different commodities, I have also started taking baby steps towards using a lot of cruelty-free products (not tested on animals, no animal ingredients).

As we all know, The Body Shop, is in itself a cruelty-free brand and they do have a lot of these options available worldwide. Owned by L’Oréal, one of the more popular non-cruelty free brands in the market, I’m still debating with myself whether or not to support the former as I am definitely not a supporter of the latter. However, I won’t be touching on that discussion as a separate blog post is what I’d see fit for that argument (sensitive topic! Yes I know!).

Initial Thoughts:

Honestly, at first, I was a bit skeptical and I felt like it’s a waste of money : to buy a 100-ml bottle of mist. Time and time again, my younger sister kept mentioning this product to me (she’s great with make up – I learned from her actually) and over those months I’ve just been so curious about it. Finally,  curiosity killed this girl – I decided to purchase one just so I can shut my head with the What-Ifs. At the same time, I’ve been searching for an available product that can set my daily makeup that wouldn’t cause the foundation/ blush to cake or break.

How I apply it:

Normally, I’d wash my face with my cleanser before I apply anything on it. The key is to have a freshly washed face patted lightly to dry with a towel. I, then, spray the mist at least four or five times on my face. After it (my face) has air-dried, I start putting on the layers of makeup (in order): liquid foundation, powder foundation, highlights and blush. Completing all the light facial coating, I spray the mist over my face at least four to five times again.

After use thoughts:

It’s amazing because it helps set the makeup onto my skin and what plus points because it lasts the entire day without any retouches! Personally I hate makeup retouches, I feel like it’s a waste of time to get up from work just to fix your makeup. With that said, this product has truly helped me save time and effort to perform any fix-ups.

The makeup (all through out the day) looks so natural and doesn’t  leave any liquid patches behind. I love how the smell of the rose water as well. It’s not a strong scent but you’d know it’s there as the aroma spans out as you spray it over your face. I usually leave it at home (again, no more retouching) but the bottle is very portable and it’s easy to carry.

However, I do hope they make the bottle transparent (or at the least opaque) as the only con I can see is that I can’t see how much product is left.

Overall, I can see myself re-buying this product if my first bottle runs out as it is truly amazing and it has been staple in my routine!

Love and light,
